Advanced Aquatics Training

Our Advanced Aquatics Training is tailored for lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquatic professionals. This comprehensive course covers advanced rescue techniques, emergency response planning, and aquatic safety management. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of water rescue protocols and first aid specific to aquatic environments. The training includes both theoretical and practical components, ensuring participants are equipped to handle emergencies in and around the water with confidence.

LSS Examiner Course

From $70

The Examiner Course is part of of a 3 step program.

This Course enables individuals to learn more about the examiners role in certifying individuals.

 

Part 1 - Teach an Examiner certified course

Part 2 - Attend an Examiner Course

Part 3 - Apprentice on an exam with an Examiner Mentor

*Part 1 & 2 do not need to be done in order but is recommended

*you can only teach and apprentice on a stream your certified in.

Prerequisites: Lifesaving or First Aid Instructor certification (need not be current).

LSS First Aid Instructor Course

From $250

The Lifesaving Society First Aid Instructor course prepares candidates to teach first aid courses up to and including Workplace Standard First Aid. Current First Aid Instructors may teach and certify Basic and Emergency First Aid, CPR-A,-B,-C and AED. They may teach (but not certify) Standard First Aid candidates (see Examiners).

First Aid Instructors who hold CPR-HCP may teach (but not certify) CPR-HCP (see Examiners). First Aid Instructors who hold Airway Management may teach (but not certify) Airway Management (see Examiners).

Prerequisites: Minimum 16 years of age, Standard First Aid certification (need not be current).

LSS National Lifeguard Instructor Course

The National Lifeguard Instructor course provides candidates with an understanding of the principles and practices on which the National Lifeguard program is based. The course explores teaching approaches and techniques appropriate for National Lifeguard candidates.

After successful completion of the course, National Lifeguard Instructors are certified to teach the National Lifeguard course in the option(s) they hold (i.e., National Lifeguard Instructors who hold National Lifeguard Pool may teach National Lifeguard Pool, etc.).

Prerequisites: National Lifeguard (any option) and Lifesaving Instructor certifications (need not be current).

LSS Aquatic Management Instructor Course

The Aquatic Management Instructor course prepares instructors to teach the Lifesaving Society's Aquatic Supervisor and/or Aquatic Manager certifications. That is, Aquatic Management Instructors are certified to teach the management training courses they hold (i.e., those who hold Aquatic Supervisor may teach it; similarly, those who hold Aquatic Manager may teach it).

Prerequisites: Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Instructor, National Lifeguard and Aquatic Supervisor or Aquatic Manager certifications (need not be current).

LSS Pool Operator Instructor Course

From $200

The Pool Operator Instructor course prepares Instructors to teach and certify candidates in the Society's Pool Operator Level 1 and 2 programs.

Prerequisites: Lifesaving Society Pool Operator Level 2, Lifesaving Instructor (need not be current).

LSS Instructor Trainer Course

From $200

Lifesaving Society Trainers teach, evaluate and certify instructor candidates. Appointment as a Trainer is a 3-step process:

  1. Successfully complete the Society's Trainer course led by a current National Trainer.
  2. Successfully apprentice with an experienced Trainer on one Instructor course in the stream you wish to be appointed as a Trainer.
  3. Submit your completed Training Record and certification fee with a positive recommendation from the experienced Trainer with whom you apprenticed.

Prerequisites: Bronze Examiner or First Aid Examiner or National Lifeguard Examiner, or: experienced Swim Instructor or Officials Instructor or Lifesaving Sport Coach.
